A few times a year a mom will come to our local hospital to have a baby and her situation is some what more extraordinary that most. Through the criteria as agreed between the hospital social worker and our program those who qualify will receive some immediate support. The goal of this program is to assist mom with the necessary items to get her through the first few days with her new baby. We are then also able to get the family plugged into supports such as the free store and food pantry so that she will have access to weather appropriate clothing as baby grows and healthy food. In addition, she will have the support of many experienced mothers who understand the pressures of bringing home baby. She can visit in the living room at Networks and enjoy a coffee and the positive environment.
We believe that providing the help early on will decrease stress and increase a positive out come for mom, dad and baby.
