Good Food Box Program

The Good Food Box (GFB) program offers free, fresh produce to those in the community who struggle with food security; providing support for individuals and families facing financial challenges, living low income or below the poverty threshold. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to eat healthy despite financial challenges.

This initiative is a joint effort between Networks Ministries and the Dawson Creek Co-op. We appreciate the Dawson Creek Co-op who have partnered with us in this initiative since 2014!

We would like to highlight our annual sponsor for the GFB program for 2024! We would like to thanks ARC Resources for their generous support sponsoring our Good Food Box program for 2024

The GFB program is a box of fresh produce provided to registered clients twice a month, every first and third Thursday each month, year round. Each GFB day Networks currently provide on average 66 GFB’s, that supports an estimated 200 individuals. This is 1,584 GFB’s of fresh produce handed out annually.

The GFB program is operated out of our facility at Networks Ministries building. While a majority of the recipients pick up their GFB, each GFB day 14 boxes are delivered right to the door of recipients, this provides support for seniors or those with physical disabilities who are unable to leave their homes.

The GFB program is facilitated by Networks Ministries and delivered by a team of volunteers. Once the boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables are delivered to Networks by our local Co-op Food Store a team of volunteers will divide the produce and build the boxes. These volunteers also oversee the distribution of the GFB as recipients come by to pick up their boxes. This program is run first come first serve, except for the 14 boxes delivered by 2 delivery teams, and clients that have had a box sponsored and designated for them. This program takes 8 volunteers to run, and approximately 3 hours to run from start to completion.

The Good Food Box Program operates on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month.
