We will continue to accept Food and Monetary donations.
Thank you for your continued generosity and support!
*When we are accepting donations of Clothing and Household items the following apply.
Donations of Furniture and Household Items
We accept donations of clothing, furniture, and various household items. There are times when we will take a temporary break from receiving donations, of clothing and household items, when we need to get caught up. If you want to be sure that we are receiving donations please check back at our website here or our Facebook page: Networks Ministries
Clothing & Household items
As we are unable to wash, clean, or sort donated items, we ask that all donations be clean, in good usable condition, and presorted before drop-off. Clothing, bedding, and housewares should be washed; small appliances should be in working order with all cords and attachments included.
If you are donating items from storage, spring cleaning, or an estate, please review boxes beforehand and remove any unusable items or personal valuables, as we are often unable to trace ownership once items are donated.
At this time, we do not accept baby car seats, booster seats, bath toys, or exersaucers. We also cannot accept underwear or undergarments unless they are new or in excellent condition for sanitary reasons.
Furniture Program
Before arranging a furniture donation, please email support@networksdc.ca so we can confirm that we are able to accept the items and help make the donation process as smooth as possible.
Our furniture program is designed to support registered clients of Networks Ministries. Due to limited storage space and logistical considerations, we are currently able to accept only the following items*:
• Medical equipment
• Beds (Please note that we cannot accept king-size beds)
• Kitchen tables and chairs
• Couches and armchairs
• Dressers, bookshelves, coffee tables and end tables (No china cabinets or entertainment units please)
Furniture Donation Requirements
To ensure the sustainability of our furniture program, we have focused on providing a limited number of essential furniture items to registered clients of Networks Ministries. While we recognize that the need for furniture often extends beyond this list, we appreciate your understanding, support, and generosity as we work to serve our community effectively.
All donated furniture must be clean, in excellent condition, and fully functional. We are unable to accept items that are broken, damaged, heavily worn, stained, dirty, or covered in pet hair.
Beds and mattresses must be clean and in excellent condition. For sanitary reasons, we cannot accept mattresses or beds that are stained, soiled, or covered in pet hair. Please note that king-size beds cannot be accepted.
Drop Off Details
Drop Off Times:
When we are accepting donations (please see above), they can be dropped off during our regular operating hours:
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Drop Off Location:
Donations can be brought in through the front door, to the end of the hall is a big wood bin where bags of cloths and boxes of household items can be put. Please ask for assistance with any items that do not fit in our donation bin, as we need to keep our hallways and doorways clear.
Thrifty Fridays & Saturdays - Drop Off Times:
- Fridays: 1pm - 6pm
- Saturdays: 10am-3pm
Thrifty Fridays & Saturdays - Drop Off Location:
South-east side of the building (2nd set of double doors on south end) - Please check in with Thrift Store attendant before leaving donations.
Please place all donations in the designated drop-off areas. Donations left in the building entryway violate building safety and fire regulations.
Items left outside are often rummaged through, damaged, or scattered around the property. For health and safety reasons, these items must then be discarded. Donations that do not follow our drop-off guidelines create a significant burden on our volunteers and result in additional disposal costs for our organization.
We appreciate your kindness, cooperation, and thoughtful donations. By following these guidelines and donating quality, usable items, you help us better serve those in need in our community.
